Adventure Bound with Chef Jeff

After a week off, we’re back and catching up on a little bit of everything.
This week, we reflect on the devastating flooding in Nepal, Utah, and Northern Arizona, and share some thoughts on the events and their impact. We also talk about a recent trip to Chicago, including the city’s public transportation and what makes getting around a big city such an interesting experience.
And, because no episode would be complete without a few unexpected detours, we dive into the incredible world of vending machines in Japan and discuss Vinny’s ongoing lack of sleep.

This week, we’re getting back to the pure and simple joy of riding—from the trails on a mountain bike to those moments when a road bike ride just hits differently.
We also talk about the hobbies and activities we like to incorporate into our travels, and how they can make a trip even more memorable. Speaking of travel, we share some exciting adventures coming up, including Vinny’s trip to Canada and my upcoming journey through the Southwest of Utah.
And finally, we attempt to crack the code behind the Garmin watch. What exactly do those sleep scores and Body Battery numbers mean? Why can we feel great when Garmin says we shouldn’t—or completely wiped out when the watch tells us we’re doing fine? We try to make sense of it all, with mixed results!
It’s another conversation about bikes, travel, adventure, and the wonderfully confusing data our watches give us.

We’ve hit a milestone—Episode 20! This week, we take a moment to look back at how far we’ve come, share a little about Vinny’s most recent adventure, and celebrate the journey so far.
But this episode is really all about meals: planning them, shopping for them, prepping them, and, most importantly, sharing them.
After a full day packed with adventure, there’s something special about gathering around the campfire, sitting down together, sharing stories, and breaking bread. Whether it’s a carefully planned meal or something cobbled together after a long day outside, food has a way of bringing people together and turning an adventure into a memory.
For us, there’s just about nothing better than ending an adventure-filled day around the fire with good food, good stories, and good company. And we think you’ll agree.

This week we reflect on: Yellow Jackets and Honey Bees, we talk about the difference between fishing and catching, getting back on the bike, roof top storage, and rabbit hole(s) that is truck and overlanding MODS. We talk about MPG and a few other topics.

True Campfire Reflections aka Weather and Feathers, this week as we recorded this episode on location in the Inyo National Forest near the Owens River from our camp site, in a Pine Forest at an altitude of 7500 feet.  Join us as we reflect on our fishing adventure, our never ending battle with bugs, but mostly just experiencing and enjoying the beauty that is the Eastern Sierras.
